In Hong Kong, the inbound travel demand to Japan is recovering quickly in post-COVID-19 era. There are various tourism promotion programme being carried out to attract inbound tourist to Japan.

KDDI HK and JTB HK have worked together to develop the smartglasses tool based on au Visual Guide solution to simulate tourism experience in Japan.

KDDI Hong Kong Limited (hereafter “KDDI HK”) and JTB (Hong Kong) Limited. (hereafter “JTB HK”) cooperate to implement digital transformation for travel industry in Hong Kong. In Japan, KDDI Corporation and JTB. Corp. had signed a "Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Implementation of Digital Transformation Measures to Solve Potential Issues in Tourism after Covid-19 Pandemic" with the aim of revitalizing tourism business by utilizing digital devices and solution centering on Smart Glass in February 2023.

The first campaign was arranged in Kansai International Airport in March 2023. With the successful experience in Japan, KDDI HK and JTB HK have brought the sightseeing simulation programme into Hong Kong and demonstrate in HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair 2023.

JTB HK will exhibit in HKTDC Hong Kong Book Fair 2023 from July 19 – 25, 2023. In the booth, demonstration of sightseeing simulation with smartglasses will be arranged. The user will be able to experience a 360-degree vision to view the scenery of various Japan sightseeing spots with the smartglasses to arouse their interest in traveling to Japan and promote their intention to visit Japan.
